oh my..im embarrassed. i love to read but there arent many on that list that ive read! im not really much for the classics..probably because i was forced to read some in high school and it just wasnt fun to analyze a book at that age!

Well, I haven't gotten through quite half of the list, and there are several books on there I've been meaning to read all my life, but somehow never get around to. I read like a fiend, but I managed to miss a lot of "classics" and this list is not by any means a list of classics. Plus FOUR of the books on it are Harry Pooter...I mean, Potter, and I think ONE would have been enough.

Because he's hilarious, that's why! I'm reading Mort right now, actually. I'll admit to being just a teensy weensy bit surprised to see him as one of the most mentioned author on a list like this though. I really like his books, but he's not really what first comes to mind when you're trying to think of Great Literary Minds. And I agree about the Harry Potter books, btw.

Actually, I swiped this list from someone's LJ and later went and looked at BBC's homepage and it's a list of people's favorite books (in Britain, I assume), NOT a list of great literary classics. Is there a particular Pratchett book you'd recommend?

Cripes. What kind of pervert has War and Peace as their favorite book? As far as Pratchett goes, I'd probably just read the first Discworld book and see how you like it. Apparently there are 25 in the series now. They're (as far as I know and except for the first two) all separate from each other, but I'd say it'd be easier to start with the first one. I believe it's called The Color Of Magic. Very much the Douglas Adams of fantasy, if you ask me. I'm enjoying them lots.

Okay, thanks, I'll look into them. As for perverts and their book choices, what about The Twits!? ahahahah! Much as I love Roald Dahl, that certainly wouldn't be my first choice!
