Yesterday was a horrible day. Instead of listening to my heart and head, I let my boss freak me out and convince me to hold out for more money and my stomach was tied up in knots for hours because of it.

However, all's well that ends well, assuming the contract arrives any minute, which I'm expecting...

I've taken the job with Company A, the permanent position, the one that I've been leaning toward the whole time.* And I'm happy and relieved and sad and resigned and too many damned emotions all tied up at once, what with having the stress level plunge to the basement, and the grief over leaving a job I've loved and liked and hated, and the insecurity and anticipation that goes with starting a new job with new people and new routines and new challenges.

The start date is still in question as I have to sign the contract, talk to my HR and my boss, but I'm hoping that I can start on October 18th. Regardless of my start date, I've been invited to participate in an offsite meeting overnight in Denmark with my new colleages on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. Butterlifes! There you are! Welcome back to my stomach! ow! stop biting!

You can all uncross your various body parts now, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

First of all C*O*N*G*R*A*T*U*L*A*T*I*O*N*S !!!

Second...start to finish, from the day you learned you HAD to look for a new job to today...what's it been, a couple of weeks? :-)

No, seriously, it feels like it's been less than a month or maybe only slightly more.

I'm pretty thrilled about the time it took, too. From start to finish it was 6 weeks.

im sure you'll do great at the new job :) congratulations!

Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Congratulations! Finally it's come to a happy conclusion. I can stop holding my thumbs. Heh! Here's hoping that your new job will be really enjoyable.

Congrats! :) Great News.

Going through a roller coaster of emotions is so incredibly exhausting. *triple chuck to the shoulder*

Congratulations! You must feel relieved after all of the ups and downs of the last few weeks.

You know it!! I hope YOU are having a smoother time of things now than you have had recently.

Good for you- I'm so happy it worked out well for you!

Congratulations! Hope it is a fabulous job with big pay and great benefits! How did you end up over there in Sweden anyway?

I met a Swede and married him and we decided to move because 1) his expat contract was up, and 2) I wanted to move back to Europe, as I had lived overseas for 6 years as a teen :) Here's a list of what I did the first 7 years since I moved here :)

Sounds awesome, we all need butterflies in our stomachs every now and then, it's good for your overall digestion, really. It is, I'm not making it up. Ok, I might be making it up a little, but still it's a good thing and I'm very happy for you and incredibly jealous of the vacation time. The tears are streaming down my face as I write.

:) :) :) sorry! I know! I'm evil that way!

I'd like to offer my congrats to you also. Out of curiosity, do you know what you'll be doing at your new job yet, or is that in the contract?

yes, I'm officially a Marketing Coordinator, which is what I've been doing...I'll be working with print materials, presentations, graphics, etc. :)

Congratulations!!! That is fantastic - such a relief .... to be able to uncross myself. Six weeks??!! You horrible girl. Do you also get those Fridays off again that you organised at your last job? And finally, yes, those new job nerves are horrible but it's also fun because you can chill out "oh really? I didn't know ... I'm knew..." and just take it easy for a few weeks while you settle in :)

No Fridays off for a while, boo hoo! Next Friday is my last free one until I can finagle them again...maybe next summer, I hope...!

Congratulations! Really happy you got this, and the 6 weeks holiday time is fantastic! That's one thing I'm not looking forward to when I go to the US - I get 27 days holiday here, plus however many bank holidays we get. Two weeks? Madness.

Anyhows, again, congrats!

Thanks! Try to find work at a bank, or school, or some kind of institution that follows the school holidays, that way you get all 10 national holidays that regular joes don't get off, like Columbus Day and such :) I had 4 weeks working for First Chicago Bank, and I know others who had 5 weeks, so it IS possible :) 2 weeks sucks though, that's for sure.
