BOUNCING BACK TO BITE ME
I'm ashamed to tell you where the camera was.

We looked around outside this morning and reaffimed that it was nowhere on the deck, in the yard or in the garage. Karin reiterated that she had left it out on the porch table and not taken it anywhere else. We talked at the breakfast table about the 3 friends who were here in the afternoon and whether or not any of them might have taken it to play with or moved it and Martin and Karin were asked to ask them nicely if they remembered having seen it.

I worked a bit late and when I finally got home, having left my brain at work, since it would NOT STOP thinking about it anyway, Anders greeted me with the news that the camera had been found...next to the computer monitor.

Yes.

Right in front of me. Right in front of him. Right in front of all of us.

Granted, our computer room is on the dark side, and granted, the monitor is black and it was pushed in under the side of it, and granted, it was late and we were tired, and finally granted that Karin said she had left it outside and she was SURE that was where she had left it. But still.

Due apologies and hugs issued to Karin who magnanimously shrugged it off with a "Det var ingenting, Mama."*

I win the prize for Idiot Of The Month so you can all rest easy for another 30 days.

Therefore, without further ado, I present:

Great Big Shout-Out to the wonderfully talented redpirk who sent me an art page today for my friends-art-book. It's a beautifully thought-out collage of some of her lovely photography, and I am THRILLED. Thank you, Jess!!

oh no -- too much cuteness!

Well, you know they say things are always in the last place that you look. Glad you found it, even if it was rather a humiliating location ot "find" it in. :) That last pic of Karin with her legs tucked up under her...I can SEE the motion! I love it.

So glad you found your camera, don´t you just hate it when things are under your nose and you don´t see it. Your pictures brought back a flood of memories from my childhood, we spent hours and hours at our friends house jumping and jumping until my mother would yell at us to come home...lol!!

It's nice to know where my kids are ALL the time :D

great you found the camera! although if someone had taken it im sure they would have been greatly amused by the pictures it contained ;)
so glad you like the collage!

that last picture is just so perfect! :-)

Kinetic Karin!

Wonderful shots!

Worth the hunt for the camera. :)

I am misplacing things all the time so count yourself lucky to be in such elegant company (I AM JUST KIDDING). :o) xx

I loved the bouncing pictures. That must have been some good camera that you didn't see motion in those pictures that makes it blurry.

Doh! hahahaha So glad you did find it though. Fabulous pics! What's this about a friends-art-book? Have I missed something?

Yes! You did!! I was asking if everyone who reads my journal would contribute a page to an artbook for me (full page). It can be anything you like: writing, drawing, photos, collage, painting, whatever. :) An expression of YOU. :)

I've already gotten 2 pages! :)

Oh!! I'll make you one. What's the page size?

A4. Whee! I can't wait to see what you come up with! :)

That is TOO funny. And yet, though I'd like to smugly say, "that has NEVER happened to me" I would totally be lying. The pictures, they are sooooo fantastic. I love the one of Kirin in the air with her hair in front of her face. Such a great action shot. Love it!!!

~cough~ so the kids win on a technical knockout. Still the month has only a few days to go, so we can all be in the running for the next idiot of the month again.

Of course there is always the chance someone may snatch it from you at the last minute, like those ambush bidders on Ebay. Or Dubya could decide on a new foreign policy - I am guessing his current one gives him Idiot of the month status most months automatically....

Yes, but was that Idiot for the month of August? - cos there is only a day or two left, and I'm feeling ripe for some idiocy, so maybe I can make September's honour roll.

I think it's a retroactive prize :D

I'm glad you found the camera. That trampoline is awesome! Kids just love to jump on them. I swear that is 50% of the reason why I take DD to gumnastics- so she can do the trampoline!

Happy to hear the camera was found, even thou it was right under your nose.
I've/we've lost count on how many times these lost items have gone missing ... it's like they grow legs & hide.

Wonderful action shots :)

Boing! Boing! Boning!

Wow-- does that look fun! ~bluepoppy

Adorable kids (as ever!) -- and FANTASTIC action shots! ;-)

Great trampoline! I love how well you caught the kids' boundless energy.

I've been experiencing the same thing lately - I simply CANNOT see things that are right in front of me and will spend ages looking for them. I swear they disappear into another dimension and then show up again when they feel like it. Or maybe it's my brain that vanishes. Yeah, that's it.

Trampoline pictures

I'm new to your site - found you at Blogcabin, I think. Those pictures are so adorable! I just love little kids with skinny legs and knobby knees. Your camera story was lots of fun too. Two other bloggers have been blogging about their lost cameras over the past week, too. Chuck at The World According to Chuck, and Phil at Perils of Caffeine In The Evening. Strange!
