What? Vienna Sausage isn't in the top 4???

I had almost completely convinced myself that the job at the MSU laundry was really just a short story I had read and not something I had actually lived through. Blast you! Ah, but it does remind me of the time I got up in the middle of the night, to go to that sorry job to find Pooka sitting on the back of the recliner, licking the vanilla yogurt off her...what was once black but now totally white, head. Considering my state of mind at that time (extra-curricular activities and all) and the fact that it was the middle of the night, it was a wonder that I figured out that she had stuck her entire head in Julie's yogurt container that lay on the floor instead of thinking someone had painted the cat.

LOL! I had forgotten that Pooka story!

Yes, I'm afraid it wasn't a dream. Remember Hazel?? She was a life lesson for me. *shudders*

Ladyhawke?!!???

Ladyhawke!! Me, too! Me, too! I never knew anyone else who had ever seen it let alone put it at the top of the list. Isn't the young Matthew B just adorable?

Hope you get some sweet slumber---

Re: Ladyhawke?!!???

But it's the soundtrack that really makes it. :-P

I need to chime and say, "Hell yeah Ladyhawke rocks!" I also concur with "Anne of Green Gables" and "The Little House on the Prairie".

BTW, I've been meaning to tell you for a week that I used your herb chicken recipe. My dad was visiting and he, Peter, and I pronounce you a genius. It turned out lovely. ;-) Thanks.

How lovely! :) thanks!

What? Sushi didn't make the list?

well, I wasn't sure whether to consider it a DISH. :)

That would be hard to discern at 2:40 in the morning. hee!

Plus, that would be TOO predictable! :P

I love Ladyhawke, but I HATE the soundtrack. It distracts totally from the film instead of enhancing it. Those synths just drive me insane! :P

I remember this discussion with you from ages ago! :D :P

What's a frickadelle?

It's a soft sausage that's double-fried...a fastfood kiosk standby in Holland.

I didn't know you lived in Belgium as well. Overpelt isn't too far from where I grew up, on the other side of the border. ;-)

We lived there for 3 years (1976-1979) and I went to school in The Netherlands, and then we moved to Kaiserslautern in Germany for 3 years. I was back and visited Overpelt the first year after we moved to Sweden. It hadn't changed much. :)

So where did you go to school?

And that explains why you listed "frikandellen"; I was wondering whether they had them in Belgium as well... ;-)

We were bussed to Brunssum, and I went to the international/military-dependent school there. It used to be called AFCent, but it has since changed names to AFNorth.

I grew up near Maastricht, so that wasn't very far away.

Knob Noster - I guess you knew I'd crack up at that name. I'm so predictable in a 10-year-old boy sort of way :)

And I'm very disappointed that "at ozswede's place" didn't make the top 4 places I would rather be right now. Lambi is inconsolable.

It was 2:40 in the morning, I plead fatigue and general braincramps and humbly bed Lambi's forgiveness.

In fact, I plead fatigue and braincramps right NOW and humbly BEG Lambi's forgiveness.

Now I KNOW you are trying to increase your comment count. "D" and "G" aren't eveb next to each other on the keyboard!

Lambi will be happy if you come and beg in bed.

Ozswede has nothing to complain about- you didn't even list Michigan as one of the 4 places you would rather be!!! OK........I know you were only born here and went to college here, BUT!!!!!!!! I'M HERE! ( at least right now, that is!) Love, Lizardmom

Oh, stop! YOU try and pick only 4 places out of all the places you'd like to be, at 2:40 a.m.!

Knob Noster, that's not far from Kansas City, where I used to live. And I've been to Hot Sprigs, too. That's where LoveShack and I eloped.

Did you visit the I.Q. Zoo? I was pretty young when we were there, and it left quite an impression on me. :) You eloped there?! Did you get married there??

Well, there we have it. How could we not be friends when you also loved Remington Steele?
