C IS FOR COOKIE, THAT'S GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME
Considering that I didn't go to sleep until 4 a.m., I think only sleeping in until 11 was pretty good. Other than running the dishwasher 2x and handwashing a boatload of wineglasses and reading a really good modern fairytale, I spent most of my day with chocolate hands:

Caramel-filled Chocolate Cookies (from the kitchen of ms_hackman)
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
2.25 cups flour
.5 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
48 chocolate-covered caramel candies (Center or Rollo work well)

Cream butter, beat in sugars, eggs, vanilla. Add flour, baking soda, salt, cocoa and mix well. Cover and chill 2 hours. Break off and roll pieces into balls approximately 1.5" diameter wide. Press a candy into the center of each ball and cover it completely with dough, rolling it back into a ball-shape. Place 2 inches apart on a a greased cookie sheet. Bake for 8 minutes at 375F. Cool for 3-4 minutes before removing or caramel will run out the bottom of the cookies.

edited to add it, just for you :)

I'm making cookies too! I got up at 7am (Unreasonably early for a night owl like myself) and have accomplished all sorts of things. I keep surprising myself. I'm all, "How is it only 2pm?"

What kind, what kind? Yuuummmm cookies!

Darn! I was looking for a new recipe. But I suspected they looked familiar. Oh, I recommended you skip the chilling of the batter part.

No way, man! I definitely needed the chilling part. The one batch that didn't work was too soft from not being chilled long enough. I suspect part of the problem is the difference in the butter here...it has much less water in it than in the States so if you use the same amount the recipe calls for, the cookie just melts into a puddle in the oven.

Yum! Thanks for the recipe, that poop looks downright mouth watering.

Yummmmm-Ohhhhh!!!! :)

Yummmmmy! I printed that recipe out right away! I will definitely have to add these to my Christmastime repertoire.

Yummm!

Those look yummylicious! It´s just about lunch time and I am so hungry and now my mouth is watering for some sweet cookies!

Mmmmm, they look great. I think I'll try them with peanut butter. Glad your Thanksgiving was a roaring success.

MMM...cookies

We love cookies...my friend's wife made me seven dozen assorted cookies, shaped like dog biscuits, as a bribe for helping her husband out with a big project once. :D My favorites are her oatmeal-molasses-raisin cookies.

Re: MMM...cookies

those sound fantastic! A good oatmeal cookie is heavenly! :)

It's really too bad I'm missing the meeting and the cookies for this business trip to Germany. That is the most delicious-looking poop I've ever seen.

You're missing the meeting?! What a drag!! I hope you can pick up your Banjo bars (if that was name) anyway. They ARE delicious poop! Sheryl said she was going to try them with peanutbutter in the middle and now I think I might have to try that, too.

Oh sweet Jesus those look divine!

These cookies look sinfully good! I have dutifully written down the recipe and will now daydream of their goodness until I can bake some. And just double checking - it's definitely baking soda, not baking powder?
