Mom and I started scouring photo albums yesterday, to collect all my old school photos, and I'm afraid the school-photo-project is going to have to wait a while...turns out of the 13 years I was in public school (K-12)...I only have FOUR of them. How did that happen? I can't even find my senior picture and I have a bleached spot in a photo album where it once resided...what the heck happened to it? Why would I have removed it and then never returned it to its spot?? Very strange.

So, now mom has to hunt them down at HER house after she returns and then MAIL them all to me, because she doesn't have a scanner OR a digital camera. Sorry to get all your (and my!) hopes up for a funny post, but hopefully the anticipation will make the wait worthwhile. Heh.

Tomorrow morning we are getting up at the crack of dawn and driving to Gothenburg for the biggest book fair in the Nordics, along with several other women from the AWC. Both of us are taking empty backpacks....and copies of my 5-page single-spaced books-to-buy list. The kids are spending the night tonight and the day tomorrow with Anders' parents because...strangely enough, they DIDN'T WANT TO GO. To a book fair. Who'da thunkit?

Anders is still in Italy, but my brother and his wife are there visiting him, so they'll be hiking or biking all weekend, so he won't be missing us too much, I suspect. :)

Then, Sunday, we are going to the pumpkin patch to get our Halloween pumpkins. I have not seen an actual sugar beet on the side of the road, but today there was a sugar beet TRUCK on the side of the road so that counts, and it's now officially AUTUMN. Plus, there were pumpkins in our local grocery store, so that clinches it. After the pumpkin patch we are going to a huge art & handicrafts fair with over 70 booths...busy! busy! O! the busy!

What are you doing this weekend? Are you doing the busy, too?

mood: busy
music: none, just me.

Aww, bummer! I didn't comment on your previous post but I was looking forward to your school pics! haha

I didn't realize it was the book fair this weekend!! Maybe I'll have to pack Sean up and head there tomorrow too.

We're going to a pumpkin patch when we go to the US. My sister has all these fantastic ideas of taking pics of Sean and her daughter together with pumpkins. haha

Did you go? There was a bazillion people there! We bought a good pile each of books and other goodies :)

What a wonderful way to spend the weekend! Drowning in books - bliss...

Is it THAT close to pumpkin time? I never see pumpkin here, but then the whole halloween thing is a bit foreign to me anyway as it is spring now where I come from. But I'm always fascinated by your creative efforts. Carve away!

They had a lot of the pumpkins already brought in from the fields and were trundling in more on a tractor flat while we were there. pumpkins galore! The farmer told us he's been busy selling them to FINLAND! So maybe you'll start seeing them further north in the future :)

Enjoy the book fair! Me, I'm staying home trying to avert the beginnings of a bad cold. No luck so far. At least I haven't had any more bizarre Swedish dreams!

It was great! We found quite a lot of English books mixed in here and there and both came home with full backpacks.

Too toe addled to do the busy. Where I would be if I could walk rather than hobble (although the hobbling is greatly improved) and if I could bike, is at the Corvallis Fall Festival. I would be dancing right now to great music at the street dance after having spent the afternoon cruising all the vendors for potential holiday gift ideas. Last year I got a gift for my son at the Fall Fest.
Sunday I would be going for a long walk through the woods and by the river with G and her dog. But instead I am back home from a brief overnight wining and dining and talking visit with women friends.
The garden is beautiful and the weather is suppose to hold, so I will probably spend time working out back with my fingers in the dirt and maybe try to find more murder mysteries, my latest book and book on tape binge.

Have you tried Elizabeth Peters? She writes great murder mysteries (period pieces), set in exotic places. Good stuff!

I have listened to a few of hers, but not for a good long time and she has many more. Thanks for the reminder.
