LIKE A WOLF
Does this give you any idea just how busy I was the last two weeks while I was away? In addition to only posting ONCE here (though I did try to keep caught up on the blog-reading), I am STILL READING THE SAME BOOK that I started the day before I left. TWO WEEKS AGO.

Seriously. Two weeks and I am not done with a paperback. That's insane. There goes my plan for beating my books-read-in-a-year record.

On the bright side, I only have about 6 pages left and I have the biggest, gigandimundo pile of NEW BOOKS to read that I'm practically slavering.

Slavering is so messy.

Want to see the list of books I bought? This is the list. It does not include the 2 books we bought for Karin (TWICE. MOM! You bought them TWICE. AND...you packed them TWICE. Hrm). It also does not include the 7 or so books we bought for Martin. (Karin got other stuff, so don't think she got gypped)

Fortune and Fate by Sharon Shinn
The Magic Half by Annie Barrows (hi lurker!)
Belle by Cameron Dokey
The Myth of You & Me by Leah Stewart
Lord John and the Hand of Devils by Diana Gabaldon
King Hereafter by Dorothy Dunnett
The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery
Dreamers of the Day by Mary Doria Russell
332 Magazine Covers by Norman Rockwell
Acts of Light by Emily Dickinson
The Mysterious Benedict Society & the Perilous Journey by Trenton Lee Stewart
The Invention of Everything Else by Samantha Hunt
The Book of Bright Ideas by Sandra Kring
Cherry by Mary Karr
The Sand Castle by Rita Mae Brown
People of the Book by Geraldine Brooks
Time of My Life by Allison Winn Scotch

See? SLAVERING!

I have also been up for approximately 3 days straight, despite dozing for 4 hours on the plane and am actually only moderately sleepy. I hope that means that I will sleep all night and not wake up at 4 a.m. Haha! My optimism! It is to laugh. Much like my optimistic plan to finish Mark Twain's Autobiography on the way TO Boston and leave him behind for some other lucky reader.

I have so much to write down for remembrances. But I am glad to be back. Also, I miss my mom. Already.

It's a monster pile! *happy dance*

Wow...thats quite a bit o' books! how do you pick out new books to read?

Something appeals to me about the story and I add it to my list :) If it's an author I already know I like, I usually end up buying everything they've written.

Thank you Liz. Glad that you had a great time in the US.

It was lovely. Hope your birthday was too!

Thank you for the birthday wishes!

You're welcome! Hope you had a super day!

I really enjoyed People of the Book!

I had another friend who also liked it. I'm looking forward to reading it, along with the rest of the giant pile!

I knew I had had them in my hands! But can't believe I didn't have them in the pile for Karin when I was packing to see them! Do you want to send them back here for an exchange? As for the navigating issue- in my defense- I have no problems when I'm getting the directions myself! Oh well, fun reminders of a fun time like when Sarah had to drive the cloverleaf exit 3 times to get in the right direction- honestly it must be like that time with too much talking as a distraction! :0 I miss you too!

If you can return them there, then I'll go ahead and send them to you. I sure had a laugh about it!

Thanks for the birthday wishes! Next time I hope not to be so busy with work that I can't swing an evening northeastward to meet up with you and Lizardmom.

No worries :) Next time!

I usually start missing my adult kids BEFORE I (or they) leave. Family shouldn't have to be so far away. Drat.
It must be a disease, this 'same book' thing. I can not stand up to your reading record Liz, but I usually breeze through books in a much shorter time than I have been and often have two or three going at once. I have had to renew the thin volume I am pretending to read while I carry it around reading, not as usual because I had so many books ahead of it, but instead because I have been so slow to read it.

Welcome back. We've missed you, but I'm so glad you had a good trip and got to spend time with your Mom.
