TORTURE
Is there anything more agonizing to a rabid book lover than re-reading a huge long series of books that one loves in order to read the latest one in the series and finishing it only to remember that not only have all the story lines been left hanging but the next book isn't even PUBLISHED yet?

I've spent the entire weekend (with a few breaks for walking, showering, eating, laundry) immersed in reading. I feel like I've just come up for air.

And now I have to start the book club book which we're meeting on Thursday about and try to get it finished by then, and mostly I just want to think for several days about the books I just finished reading without shoving them mentally aside to make way for a book I don't really want to read all that much.

I can't believe I probably have to wait more than another YEAR to find out what happens.

AAGH.

What are you reading right now? Does it have a sequel? Is it out already?

The Hunger Games ARE available in Swedish. That's what I'm reading now...and loving them. (I picked up the first one after Liz mentioned them.) It's been a long time since a book grabbed me and wouldn't let go. I'm on the second one now (Fatta Eld) and find myself going to bed earlier than strictly necessary just to be able to read without distractions.

By the way, reading about your Jane Austen binge has me thinking about reading them next. I know I read a couple of them but I'm pretty sure I've missed some along the way.

I have them in English if you want to borrow them, Geena :) (Jane Austen, I mean)

Well, she's only finished 6 novels (Pride & Prejudice, Sense & Sensibility, Mansfield Park, Emma, Northanger Abbey and Persuasion) but there are a few short stories and anthologies published I suppose.

I've read P&P a few times (both for pleasure and then again for school) but I don't think I've read the others more than once. But then I've seen the movies so many times, it's like I have read them - so I wanted to re-read them to see how much they differ from the movies/tv-series.

The Hunger Games was amazing. Everyone I've talked to liked the second book best, but I think the first is my favourite. You're in for a ride if you have both the second and the third book left. Enjoy!
