I am scintillating. Read on and see for yourself.

I had so little to do at work today that I went through and cleaned out our two cabinets full of archived marketing materials. Then I came home, put the laundry in the dryer and fell asleep on the couch. I woke up only because the dryer was beeping, just as Anders came home from getting his hair cut.

I sat at the kitchen table with my chin in my hands and bemoaned the fact that I didn't have any ideas for making dinner until Anders caved in and made macaroni and meatballs, with a side plate of sliced veggies. We've been buying this new type of meatball, called Farfars Köttbullar (Grandad's meatballs) and they are capital-D delicious. Karin still isn't home; she went to Lomma beach today with friends. It was HOT today and my hair reacted predictably. It looks TERRIBLE. I am so glad my hair appointment is tomorrow; then Anders won't be the only fresh-cut looker in the house.

I let the neighbor's cat in and petted her but then I abandoned that to write this post and browse new music on Spotify. New music by some artists I really like: score! I moved a bunch of blogs that I used to love to a separate list on my sidebar today, too...the ones who haven't posted in more than a year and a half. It's a depressingly long list. I miss the good old blogging days when everyone kept us up to date on their lives.

No wonder no one comments on my posts. They're not online anymore. *sigh*

I'm reading the third book of Ken Follet's Millennium trilogy. He's definitely not the best writer, but now I want to see the end of this. The first book covered the lead-up to and WWI and the second book covered the inter-war period and WWII. This one starts in the early 60's and covers the Cold War. I'm reading about the Cuban Missile Crisis now, which I really didn't know much about. I think I've always had it confused with the Bay of Pigs incident, but they were two separate Cuba-related crises. Anyway, it's a big-ass book and I need to get through it because I still have to read the book for book group at the end of this month.

That's all I can think of, right now. See? Scintillating doesn't even begin to cover it!

I don't think people aren't online anymore, they're just not here. :-( I'd say that most of my LJ friends are on FB and just stopped updating themselves, which in turn gave them little reason to log into LJ to read the dwindling number of posts from those of us still here. Which is not to say that they're posting a ton on FB, they're just...quiet. Which makes me sad.

It makes me sad, too

I am so glad I am still in your inner orbit. I panicked there for a minute, even though I haven't written on my blog all summer. And summer is when I have time! I haven't felt like I have had time this summer, and everything kind of blew up again today. I feel like a fire fighter putting out one after another at work. I am not really looking forward to going back full time again this year. I am tired. I hope I will get back to writing publicly at some point though...ugh.

I love this scintillating post!

Re: From Megsie

haha! You are borderline! :D I know how real life gets in the way of online life and it is nothing to feel guilty about or be ashamed of. But I DO miss reading about YOUR life and YOU! I'm just very very glad that you still find the time to read and comment on mine!! :)

I'd definitely say the *evil* FaceBook is taking over the world. I had a wee impromptu birthday party arranged via FaceBook only, just this week. My daughter is stressed out because I have not made an event page on FB for our anniversary party next month... And to some extent LJ & Wordpress are less exciting because... Well, only my mum comments, and her word seems to silence all others! LOL! I still read your stuff.

I know lots of people who are super anti-Facebook, but it doesn't seem to have stopped the trend to move everything there. I guess there's just a higher level of effort required to comment on a LJ or can just click "Like" on FB after all. Minimal effort!

But I'm very glad you still read my stuff! :D

I for one, am very glad when I find a new post of yours here. This makes me feel much more connected with you and your life. I always am disappointed when there's not a new daily post for me to read. And I'm guilty of not always replying, because sometimes I feel like I don't have anything to say or add. Oh, and sometimes I'm just tired and it's past my bedtime! :) Love is what I always find here. Lizardmom

I can't manage to write every day, most of the time...have to fight kids for the computer or lethargy or too much else to do. Thanks for a lovely comment, though!

woe is me...

I guess you deleted my LJ account... damn.
But you can see me and my family (occasionally) on FB!!! Yeah!

Re: woe is me...

I can't delete your LJ account, you had to do it yourself, or it got purged because you never wrote on it, haha!
